With a background in medicine, business, and philanthropy, Dr. CHAN Un Chan, Ina, BBS is uniquely suited to serve as an Advisor of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs). As the largest charitable organization in Hong Kong, TWGHs has been offering much-needed services to the public since 1870. During her time with TWGHs, major strides were made in the development of medical, educational, and community services. Dr. Chan also led the group in providing more diversified and innovative elderly services, and in developing opportunities for disabled individuals.

Born in Oakland, California in 1933, Jeffrey G. Chan was sent by his parents to live with an uncle in Toishan in the Canton province of China after World War II. In China, Chan observed first hand lion dancers traveling from village to village, performing the traditional dance to bring good luck and prosperity for the New Year. Today, Chan leads the Los Angeles-based Immortals Lion Dance Team. This troupe performs at numerous community functions throughout the year, including the Los Angeles Golden Dragon Parade in Chinatown, celebrating Lunar New Year.
