Forces of Change: The Persistence and Future of Los Angeles Chinatown

November 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Join us for a talk with Dr. Laureen Hom, Assistant Professor at Cal Poly Pomona examining the contemporary tensions of neighborhood change in Los Angeles Chinatown. Drawing from her ethnographic research, Dr. Hom will discuss the intersection of changes in the Chinese American Community and urban development trends in Los Angeles since the 1960s that have reshaped the neighborhood and what this means as the neighborhood’s future is envisioned as an ethnic community space.
