Guided Tours

grouptours

CAM offers docent-led tours to learners of all levels. Guided tours must be scheduled at least three (3) weeks in advance and are subject to docent schedule and availability. A typical tour will last approximately 55 minutes. The maximum capacity for guided tours is 30 people. For student groups, there must be at least one adult chaperone for every ten (10) students who are eighth grade and under.

There is no cost for guided tours, but donations are always welcome.

To schedule a guided tour, you must complete the form below.

Museum Entrance

CAM is located at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument. The front entrance is located on 425 N. Los Angeles St. through the gated courtyard.

Parking

School and charter busses can park for free in the bus lane during your visit. This is located on Main Street between Arcadia and Cesar Chavez, in the lane furthest to the right. Other vehicles can park in one of the four El Pueblo public parking lots. The nearest lot is El Pueblo Lot 2. You can find more information on parking and rates here.

Museum Policies and Rules

Cancellation Policy: CAM reserves the right to cancel a tour if a group arrives more than 15 minutes late.  Please notify the front desk at (213) 485-8567 if your group is expected to run late due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances. If you need to cancel your tour, please contact Janelle Sangalang at jsangalang@camla.org as soon as possible.

Every year, 5,000 students and educators visit the Chinese American Museum (CAM) to participate in tours and workshops through the CAM School Transportation Fund. The CAM School Transportation Fund provides subsidized transportation for students and educators from schools and nonprofit organizations who are in need of financial assistance for transportation costs. Subsidized transportation is available on a limited, and first come, first served basis.  For more information on the program, please visit www.camla.org/bussing.
