Kids’ Storytime

Join the Chinese American Museum and Ms. Rita from the Los Angeles Public Library’s Chinatown branch for this month’s Kids’ Storytime on Thursday, August 27, at 4pm PDT. Ms. Rita will be reading Broken by X. Fang.

These books are suitable for ages 3-9, though we welcome children of all ages with parental supervision!

This program is hosted virtually on Zoom. Register today by following the link in bio.

“Kids’ Storytime featuring Asian American Authors” is hosted in partnership with the Chinatown Branch Library.

About the book:

When Mei Mei accidentally breaks her Ah Ma’s favorite cup, she’s terrified of what will happen when she is found out. Will Ah Ma be angry and send Mei Mei away? Scared of what will happen, Mei Mei initially keeps the accident a secret. But when her innocent cat, Mimi, is blamed for the broken cup, Mei Mei’s guilt becomes impossible to ignore. With vibrant illustrations, Broken captures comedic drama and the comforting sweetness of a grandparent’s forgiving embrace.
