Excellence in Leadership & Philanthropy Award

With a background in medicine, business, and philanthropy, Dr. CHAN Un Chan, Ina, BBS is uniquely suited to serve as an Advisor of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs). As the largest charitable organization in Hong Kong, TWGHs has been offering much-needed services to the public since 1870. During her time with TWGHs, major strides were made in the development of medical, educational, and community services. Dr. Chan also led the group in providing more diversified and innovative elderly services, and in developing opportunities for disabled individuals.

Dr. Dan S. Louie Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award

Born in Oakland, California in 1933, 
Jeffrey G. Chan was sent by his parents to live with an uncle in Toishan in the Canton province of China after World War II. In China, Chan observed first hand lion dancers traveling from village to village, performing the traditional dance to bring good luck and prosperity for the New Year. Today, Chan leads the Los Angeles-based Immortals Lion Dance Team. This troupe performs at numerous community functions throughout the year, including the Los Angeles Golden Dragon Parade in Chinatown, celebrating Lunar New Year.

Paula Madison has earned numerous accolades throughout her career for her journalistic excellence, corporate leadership, and community outreach. Her family 
history became the topic of the documentary Finding Samuel Lowe: From Harlem to China, a film she executive produced that chronicled her journey to her maternal grandfather’s homeland in China. A memoir based on the film was published in April 2015. A highly sought after public speaker, Madison is known for her insight on the topics of corporate diversity, multi-generational wealth, and multicultural issues.

Greg Penske is the owner and Chairman/CEO of Penske Motor Group, which owns and operates automotive dealerships, including Longo Toyota, the largest car dealer in the world. Under his leadership, Penske Motor Group has received numerous industry awards and recognition. Penske has also been named “Highest Rated CEO” by Glassdoor. In addition to overseeing PMG, Penske serves on the board of directors for several organizations, and is a member of the Toyota President’s Cabinet and the Toyota Board of Governors.
